Lamplighter Publishing's Policy on
Recommendations and Manuscripts

Book Recommendations:
We appreciate your participation in finding quality, godly literature that can potentially be added to our selection of Rare Collector books. If you would like to recommend a book to be considered by Lamplighter Publishing, we ask that you do NOT send us your original copy. Please either mail us a photocopy of the entire book, or contact us with the title, author, and publisher so that we can obtain our own copy. Please remember to give us your name, address, phone number and any other information that will be helpful in contacting you. If we decide to publish your recommended book, we will acknowledge you with a special thanks in the published book.

Submissions of Manuscripts:
People frequently ask us how to pursue getting published. Since our heartbeat is godly literature written in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, we don't accept unsolicited manuscripts at Lamplighter Publishing. We can, however, offer the following advice: The best starting place is your local library. There, you'll find a wealth of information on writers groups and plenty of books on writing and the publishing process. When you feel your work is ready for publishing, it might be wise to approach publishers through a literary agent. Different markets demand a different approach. Agents can objectively advise you on your work and will help you find the publisher that is right for your type of work. A comprehensive listing of US literary agents can be found in the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook or the Guide to Literary Agents, both published annually.
