Teething and Supernanny
Dear Mark:
My Almost 15 month old daughter climbs out of her crib at night and then comes into bed with us. Both my husband and I aren't getting much sleep. I am finding myself yelling a lot during the day at my children and my husband is worse than me. She is teething and my other children are demand so much attention. What can I do? Our lives are so out of order. I know I need to focus on my parenting but don't know what to do. Recently I have come face to face that I have been lazy and not self-absorbed. I have confessed this and have experienced God's grace but know that tomorrow will be another day. Please help.
Dear Out of Control:
This might not be the best counsel in the world but I think you will learn some things from watching the new tv show called the Super Nanny. She has some good insight concerning parenting young children, especially late night escape artists.
Also, don't focus on parenting, focus on your relationship with Christ. Take a look at the 8 Blessings on our web site. Following these steps will be very helpful. Don't forget, that when you begin this cycle of growth, there will probably come a period of decline when everything seems to unravel. Just remember, that God promises compassion that is new every morning. Give the same to your children. Forgive, forgive, forgive,…
Be consistent without requiring perfection.
Mark
