Timothy Project
Recently a nine-year-old boy donated his hard earned money to our ministry. Upon receiving his gift, our staff at Lamplighter didn't quite know how to respond to this heartfelt generosity. How could we best use this money to further the kingdom of God? Then an idea was birthed. We were reminded of a phone call we had received from a woman who has been reading Lamplighter books at her local hospice. These stories are having a profound impact in the lives of individuals who are facing death. She shared how one woman, unable to speak, lay in her bed listening to the story with tears streaming down her face. We were convinced that Timothy's money should be used to further that powerful ministry! Thus, the Timothy Project was born.
As a non-profit organization, we depend upon the contributions of our friends to fulfill our mission to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. This particular project will receive designated funds that will be used specifically for ministries such as this. As a result of the Timothy Project, we have sent this servant a supply of Lamplighter books so that she can continue to read and share the gospel in this unique and powerful way through the hospice ministry.
Just as the little boy gave his fish and bread to Jesus, it is our prayer that Timothy's gift will spark a desire for others to follow his example. Contributions will enable us to fulfill our mission of making ready a people prepared for the Lord!
