Word Is Out

"We who preach and write, do so in a manner different from which the Scriptures have been written. We write while we make progress. We learn something new every day. We speak as we still knock for understanding...If anyone criticizes me when I have said what is right, he does me an injustice. But I would be more angry with the one who praises me and takes what I have written for Gospel truth than I would be with the one who criticizes me unfairly. Augustine

humility and the protection of ourselves and our children

In the book of Ezra chapter 8 verse 21 we read:

Then I proclaimed a fastthat we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him a safe journey for ourselves, our children, and our goods.

Humility is the starting pointalways is and always will be.  Humility is what brought us into relationship with Jesus Christ and humility will be what keeps us safe on our journey to him. Humility is also what keeps our children safe along the way.  Only when we humble ourselves can God lift us up. (I Peter 5: 5-11) Oh how I hate to be blocked from getting to the destinations that I have set in life.  But it is in those times of being blocked, God gives us opportunities to humble ourselves, so that we can demonstrate that He is truly the sovereign ruler of our liveswe are not in control of our destiniesHe is for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.  Therefore, do all things without grumbling or questioning (or murmuring or complaining), that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish, in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the Word of Life…” Philippians 2: 12-16
