Mark's Blog

"We who preach & write, do so in a manner different from which the Scriptures have been written. We write while we make progress. We learn something new every day. We speak as we still knock for understanding…If anyone criticizes me when I have said what is right, he does me an injustice. But I would be more angry with the one who praises me and takes what I have written for Gospel truth than I would be with the one who criticizes me unfairly." Augustine

The Truth Projecthttp://www.thetruthproject.org/

A friend of mine shared this website with me and I found it worth sharing with you.  In fact, much of what Lamplighter Ministries is all about is found in the content of this trailer.  Without a proper understanding of the character of God, people will be governed by their feelings…the absence of reasonable faith.  I say reasonable because it is more reasonable to believe in a creator God who took six days to call the world into existence than to believe in an evolution by random chance that took billions of years.  This is just one example of reasonable faith.  But faith will only grow in proportion to one’s understanding of the nature of God found in His Word and our own nature.  Grappling with the knowledge that there is a God who at one time destroyed the entire human race except eight people, or grappling with a God who commanded a chosen nation to destroy another undeserving nation, including woman and children, or grappling with a God would allow sin to enter the world in the first place, are questions that must be answered if one is to completely trust that God is love and light and in Him is no darkness at all.  Knowing these answers and believing them, may be one’s only foundation when life just doesn’t make sense anymore.  The following website will lead you to these truths:
