Word Is Out

"We who preach and write, do so in a manner different from which the Scriptures have been written. We write while we make progress. We learn something new every day. We speak as we still knock for understanding...If anyone criticizes me when I have said what is right, he does me an injustice. But I would be more angry with the one who praises me and takes what I have written for Gospel truth than I would be with the one who criticizes me unfairly. Augustine

You have done for us all our works

In Isaiah 26:12 there is a great truth about God. "O LORD, you will ordain
peace for us; you have done for us all our works." This is similar to the
NT truth, "Faithful is he who calls us, who will also do it." When we
cooperate with God, he is able to accomplish so much through us. Too often
we slow the work and hinder the process by resisting him. The key I believe
is found in the first few words: "you will ordain peace for us..." Peace is
the result of a life lived well with God. Psalm 34 I believe talks about
those who pursue peace. As I look back upon my life, it was the times that I
pursued peace in my relationships, where I saw God do his greatest work of
redemption and restoration.

I just read this...I need to share it...

..."We think some grand achievement or someones approval will finally baptize us with the sense of being loved. But the need to trust is our invitation, over and over, to the place where we look into His face- and no one elses- and let ourselves be loved by Him. We let ourselves be loved by God. Our hands release their grip on the reins of our lives and we stop trying so hard to be women (men too) with all the answers.
There is nothing on the planet quite like this freedom.....When you taste a measure of being able to love and enjoy the people in your life, without having to have any particular response from them, you are tasting bliss. You can move out into life, and you dont have to have your parking ticket stamped by human approval to do it. Letting ourselves be loved by God is the place where we stumble upon trust.."
