Word Is Out

"We who preach and write, do so in a manner different from which the Scriptures have been written. We write while we make progress. We learn something new every day. We speak as we still knock for understanding...If anyone criticizes me when I have said what is right, he does me an injustice. But I would be more angry with the one who praises me and takes what I have written for Gospel truth than I would be with the one who criticizes me unfairly. Augustine

give myself to prayer

I really believe that most of us don't understand the power and importance
of prayer...continuous prayer. I read a book once where a missionary from
the Philippines practiced prayer throughout the day, second by second. That
might be a little extreme, but I think that the distractions that we
encounter daily are keeping us from the opportunity to talk with our Father.
We get in the car and we turn on the radio. I have tried to make it a
practice that before I touch the radio, I will pray for some immediate
concerns...my children, extended family, staff, and close friends. Usually,
I find myself reaching my destination without ever turning the radio on...

Cultivating a life of prayer takes discipline...a spiritual discipline that
is sorely needed today. Listen to what David said in Psalm 109:4

"In return for my love they accuse me, but I give myself to prayer."

What an amazing thing to say...David had cultivated a life of prayer...he
knew where his power and protection came from...have a great weekend...time
to read, fly, and help my daughter move in...oh if you didn't take the test
on perception, please look at last nights blog entry!
