Word Is Out

"We who preach and write, do so in a manner different from which the Scriptures have been written. We write while we make progress. We learn something new every day. We speak as we still knock for understanding...If anyone criticizes me when I have said what is right, he does me an injustice. But I would be more angry with the one who praises me and takes what I have written for Gospel truth than I would be with the one who criticizes me unfairly. Augustine

FW: Enthusiasm--God in us.

What a week we have had. Debbie and I have traveled from home to Orlando, to Austin, San Antonio, to Dallas, back to San Antonio, and finally home. We met so many of God's people who are so very supportive and prayerful toward the creation of Lamplighter Theater. So much to share, but I will reserve this for our prayer letter.  Just a few minutes ago, I received an email from the producer of Lamplighter Theater. I think his insights would be good to share this morning. Here is a glimpse into our daily dialogue:

Mark

Amen!  Bring it on!
Whenever I get around someone who's passionate about their mission--as your are--I get a clear sense of the excitement of God himself.  A pastor friend told me once that the root word of enthusiasm is entheos, or "God within."  That's the sense of excitement I sense in you and Debbie.  This is no flash-in-the pan excitement.  This is a reservoir of blessing that's been building up for thirty years like water about to burst through a dam.
Blessings ahead,
John

Isn't that incredible! What amazing insight into this word "enthusiasm."  So many Christians lack luster in their lives. We need to be reflectors, imitators, and radiators of our creator God. He has given us so much; we have so much to be thankful for. Can you remember when you received the one gift you were hoping you would receive for Christmas or your birthday? I remember when I received my first bike with the banana seat, three speed with the shifter on the middle bar, and hand brakes! It was purple in color with white and gold lettering, high handle bars, and those colorful streamers coming out the end of the handle bars. Can you picture this? It was my dream bike and I was so excited. The enthusiasm that I experienced was beyond measure. This is what our lives should be like toward God. Enthusiasm—God in us. He has given us so much.

Praise be to the Lord Who is the Author and Finisher of our faith! The joy and enthusiasm others see in us are reflections of our walk with Him and His dwelling place in us. We labor by faith and the works follow according to His plan. Be blessed this day, my brothers and sisters, as we seek His face!
