The Lamplighter Prison Ministry
Setting the Captives Free!
And I was in prison, and you came me…and the King shall answer
and say unto them, … as you have done it unto the least of my brethren,
you have done it unto Me. (Matthew 25)
Purpose:
- To provide life-transforming teaching through seminars and books that will "set the captives free".
We are excited about the opportunity to minister to and encourage men in our local correctional facility. Each week we distribute Lamplighter books and present Life-Transforming Seminars to encourage those with little or no hope. Within just a few weeks we have received numerous letters from inmates expressing heartfelt thanks for the books, and most importantly, for the truth that “nothing is too difficult for the Lord.”
How Can I Be Involved?
If you could only see their faces as they reach out for a Lamplighter book! Unfortunately, there are more hands than books, and that is why we need your support for this vital and life-changing ministry. . We have also been asked by some of the prisoners to send books to their families back home. One prisoner was so touched, he couldn't believe we would actually send a book to his 5-year- old daughter.
You can help make an impact on the lives of these prisoners by donating funds that will enable us to provide the prisoners and their families with more Lamplighter books. Click here to donate...

Change for Change Makes Cents
Our Change for Change Makes Cents program is most exciting. This is for children’s church or youth groups: The children simply (respectfully) ask the adults in the church if they would be willing to give some of the change in their pockets for this ministry. The children save the money and then send it to us with a list of names and addresses for prisoners so that we can provide them with some books. Just think how a lonely person will feel when they receive a book from someone who cares about them; and can you imagine the impact our Lamplighter stories will have in their lives?!
Prisoner's Letters
Read some of the letters that our prisoners have written. These show how God is working in the lives of these individuals. Please note that all names have been removed in order to protect the prisoners' immunity.

Prisoner's Book Reviews
A contest was conducted in which the prisoners were asked to write book reviews of a Lamplighter book. The winner was awarded with a copy of scripture.
When I read a review of Sir Knight of the Splendid Way to our staff, we were amazed at the heartfelt expression of lessons learned through this powerful allegory. We were so impressed with the literary quality with which this man wrote we have posted it on our website.
