Detailed Description

This suspenseful, historical novel takes place during the period when France's King Louis XIV renounces the Edict of Nantes and declares Protestantism illegal. Tolerance is a thing of the past, and we find a band of Huguenot refugees bravely facing one narrow escape after another. But the peril of the tumultuous seas is the least of their worries‚--little do they know what terrors lie ahead! Even through the kidnapping and endless corruption, they stand firm and confident in the providence of God.

Prisoners of the Sea gives little relief from its unyielding tension and suspense, but the jaw-dropping revelation doesn‚'t come until the very last chapter!

	AN AMAZING STORY!!!!!
This Book kept me on my toes....I read it in three days! Prisoners of the sea is an adventure you must come along on. It is sound Doctrine, Adventure, History , and MUCH , much , more! I wish there was a sequel yet the story in itself has a wonderfull ending! p.s. A wonderful mystery is involved!

	One of the BEST!
I cannot understand how each Lamplighter book gets more and more intersting as i read them! I thought the Hidden Hand was My favorite with Capitola and her adventures, TILL..I read Prisoners of the Sea. Now I cannot chose, they have the same place within my heart. I shall tell you a little about this wonderful book. A small craft load of shiprecked people lay floating in the waters of the large ocean. The passengers are two ladies and three gentle men. All of the sudden a great storm comes...will they find cover in a landless ocean? God makes all things possible...but can he do this? Read the book and you will find out the answer to this and the page turning mystery that follows.

	Wonderful Book!!!
I really, really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of the things I like in good books: It was long, it was historical fiction, it had an original plot, adventure, a bit of romance, believable and Christian characters... I could go on and on. I would highly recommend this book!

	A great book for older kids
My brother and I both read this book, and then we read it with our younger sister. It is most definitely a worthwhile book for teenagers and adults. The message might be a little more subtle than most Lamplighter books, but it is a thought-provoking thriller. Some parts get under your skin almost...especially the old man and the epilogue made me think for a while.

	Fast-Paced and Historically Interesting!
Wow, what a book! Not only does it tell the tale of some religious refugees, but it also combines one of Frances most famous and at the same time unknown charaters! Every turn of the page brings a new aspect into this tale, with the mystery building until the last few pages! Although I could not find any proof that this truly is the answer for the legend, it definitly makes for an exciting story! Definitly worth reading- you wont want to put it down until you are done!

This book was very good until the part where they find the dead guy. Who was he?!!! That really bothered me. I have to say this is one of the only Lamplighter books, that I have read twice. All the rest I read over and over again. I am not saying do not read it, because it is an excellent book. Maybe you will figure it out.

	Wonderful and exciting historical drama
Prisoners of the Sea is a wonderful historical drama with some of the most admirable characters you will meet on the pages of a book. There is high adventure and just enough romance to make it sweet. I loved this book and it is one I will read over and over. Also, such beautiful writing, you will feel like you are there seeing everything in person.
