Tired of Fighting
Mr. Hamby,
This past weekend I heard Mr. Hamby speak at a Convention in Orlando. Thank you so much. We have Home Schooled our almost 8 year old all his life. It has been a challenge, to say the least. : - ) But we know that God has called us so we persevere. Our son is a very kind hearted boy but he is just as strong when it comes to things he just doesn't want to do. He also has a very strong willed mom and we butt heads often even though we love each other very much. Listening to your stories about you and Jonathan was helpful, and convicting. And I heard myself yelling at my boy. Ouch! The screaming and demanding
certain types of behavior. I have always known it is wrong but didn't know what else to do. I still don't know what to do, but am searching the Word and searching my heart for a better way. All I know is that I am tired of fighting and being frustrated and ready for a new way of
doing things. And I know that I am the adult and have to make the changes before I will see any fruit in him.
Thank you for being so honest and transparent and sharing your
heart with us. There are many of us - just not many who will admit
that we need to change.
Thank you, God Bless you,
You have my permission to use this. I pray it will help others.
Dear Tired of Fighting:
Thank you for your kind words. It appears that you are now heading in
the right direction. However, you can count on being tested like
you've never been tested before. Allow turbulent times to be a time
of humbling so that God can lift you up. "Cry out to Him and He will
deliver you from all your troubles." Psalm 34 (please read this
Psalm)
Sometimes when we receive a heart felt email it touches the
lives of everyone on staff. Your email is one that we would like to
share with your permission. No names will be used but I believe that
it will be an encouragement to other struggling moms. Please let me
know if we can use it.
Stay in His Word and on your knees. Remember, God's strength is made
perfect in weakness.
Sincerely,
Mark Hamby
